Hi girls,

i know this was mentioned on here before but in case it helps anyone, just wanted to say that Quinn healthcare have an Infertility Benefit under some of their plans. However, it states that you have to be insured with them for 52 weeks prior to receiving treatment, or be covered under another scheme in previous 52 weeks (not possible since VHI or Aviva don't cover Infertility). I used to be with VHI until end Dec, switched to Quinn then as part of company/work scheme, and was just recently submitting receipts to the Quinn rep who came into our office to collect them. I happened to have all my medical receipts in the one bag and he asked me what the IVF ones were about - i said i couldn't submit them as treatment done in March and only covered for 3 months by then. He told me to submit them and see what happens - and low and behold, i received a cheque for 1,000 euro this week, once in a lifetime benefit. Could not believe it!!! Now i don't know if i was just very lucky or what, but all i wanted to say was that if you are covered, even if not for full 52 weeks, go ahead and submit the receipts anyway, can't do any harm, i never would have considered sending them in unless he had told me too.

Good luck,
Brid

Hi rusty, I think it's Care Manager Suite and above. We switched from Essential Plus to Company Care to get it. We didn't have to wait the 52 weeks due to t&c in DH employer scheme and also got our €1000 once off benefit. Their no is 1890 89 1890 maybe give them a bell to confirm if you're covered. I know it's only a drop in the ocean with the €000's we pay on this horrible road but sure it's something.

I asked about this at the time the plan came out..
Basically, if you change up from another Quinn scheme, you have to wait the 12 months...

Unfortunately at present there is no benefit for infertility treatment on the Essential Plus scheme. Should you choose to change your scheme to a scheme that provides benefit, you will be required to be on the new scheme for a period of 1 year before you are eligible to claim the infertility benefit.

If you are moving to Quinn from another insurer to one of the covered plans, then you are covered straight away...

This new benefit offers up to a maximum of €1000 per lifetime towards fertility treatment for specific procedures at participating centres that are accredited by the Irish Medicines Board.

The €1000 fertility benefit is available on the following 6 schemes;
A) Health Manager Gold
B) Health Manager Silver
C) Family Care
D) Company Care
E) Company Care Premium
F) Company Care Gold.

€1000 is recoverable once treatment is received on one of 8 recognised treatment centres which are accredited by the IMB ( Irish Medicines Board).

1) The Cork Fertility Centre
2) The Kilkenny Clinic
3) The Galway Fertility Centre
4) Clane Assisted Conception Unit
5) Simms
6) The Merrion Clinic
7) HARI
Cool The Morehampton Clinic

The 3 treatments recognised by QUINN-healthcare are :

A) IUI-Intra Uterine Insemination
B) IVF-Intro Vito Fertilisation
C) ICSI- Intracytioplasmic Sperm Injection.

Hope this information is sufficient to answer your query.

Edited to add
this benefit is only available to female members
